Thank you 2014 for bringing us socks with sandals, crazy high slits, and hats that you could hide a small child in.
As I'm getting uber excited for all the new Trends that are hitting now and this years upcoming seasons, I'm reflecting on the old trends, more specifically the ones i'm ready to let go of! Here are some trends that I'm ready to see get lost this coming season.
I too loved them dearly, until I realized I was neither
1) a warrior, nor 2) a princess.
LEGGINGS AS PANTS
No one needs to see that much of any other person. Think of it this way: What's comfortable to you is uncomfortable to everyone else.
Tip: If you seek comfort try rocking some black active leggings that have full coverage. They have more "hold" anyway and are much more flattering.
First it was Nicole Richie. Then Kelly Osbourne went lilac, too. And then so did everyone else. Let's leave the My Little Pony look in 2014, shall we?
EXCESSIVELY DESTROYED JEANS
If you need to put self-tanner on your legs to wear your jeans, they are no longer jeans. They are jean skeletons—and they need to be laid to rest.
I'm all for faking a fuller lip, but one can go overboard with the liner and lipstick. Tread lightly.
Let's leave this denim onesie where it belongs: On carpenters and babies.
#EyebrowsOnFleek became a thing, and so did the Instagram Brow. The IG brow has an ombre effect — it is meant to be more defined in the middle and at the end. I think we should just fill in our brows like normal, ladies, and save the special effects for photoshoots.
SOCKS WITH SANDALS
If we start taking fashion cues from hungover frat boys, we're probably headed toward a bleak future of white baseball hats, cargo shorts, and futons.
Sun-kissed hair looks great when done in a subtle manner. When hair is obviously two-toned, it looks like you've been lazy about getting your roots touched up.
As always I hope I helped!! Lets put these trends to rest and get excited about all the new Hot ones coming!!
Red carpets are always a pleasure for me to watch and review. For the obvious reasons of course. What fashion lover doesn't enjoy staring at beautiful dresses, styling fellas, and all the amazing hair and makeup looks!? On top of just enjoying the view, it's my first place to find Inspiration and new trends. The red carpet trends influance designers and stylist everywhere. The hair and makeup trends spotted will soon be seen in editorials, in street styles, and on tv. Trending with Tressie followers are ahead of the trends, rocking the hot trends first!
Here are my fav looks from the red carpet xo
It wasn't just the bold bang of yellow in Naomi's Gucci gown that caught my attention — check out those Bulgari diamonds! Dying!! Animal inspirations like this necklace are soooo hot right now! The bold red lips with the yellow color is also another color combo we will see a lot of.
All that glitters is Dakota on the red carpet. Shimmer and sequins is no stranger to the red carpet, but this trend is on the rise once more! Dakotas fresh and modern take on it breethes new life into the look. Her effortlessly sexy hair and matte and mauve makeup is the perfect pairing to keep this look hot on trend and not to "themey"
Best actress nominee, Julianne continued the shimmer trend and brought the drama in this shimmering, feathered Givenchy gown. Love.
slinky sexy skip gowns are one of my favorite trends right now!! They have such an effortlly sexy apeal! This one with allover sparkle is divine!
Ralph Lauren halter gown. But the real trend that stood out to me the most in this bold look was her super on trend makeup and hair. Sleek strands to let the bold colors shine. Flawless skin with soft eyes and bold brows and lips! Ahhhhhh!!! I love it!!!
Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad.
JLo has always rocked polished looks and has always taken risks on bold trend choices. She has one of my alltime favorite red carpet styles! On this carpet she didn't disappoint! This dramatic dress is Auuh- mazing!! The draped cape style of her dress is soooo hot!!! Trend to rock for sure!
Jamie Dornan and David Oyelowo get my vote for trendiest fellas. David for his shimmer goodness of a suit and Jamie for looking so dapper and for rocking such a beautiful man beard.
Stay fabulous TWT Loves 💋
When I typically think of fall and winter fashion, my mind immediately goes to dark colors, heavy and chunky textures. Leather, Fur, and Wool. With so many exciting options to put together I never felt I was lacking color choices or longing to wear my light chiffon scarves or dresses. I have always been a huge fan of putting together a look with winter whites. It's a strong look, head to toe white. There has always been enough winter fabric options in white to put together a true winter white look. (White furs, coats, sweaters and such) I can't help but to cringe a little when I see a summer white look or summer pastel piece trying to be restyled into a winter look. Rarely works. Lets just not go there people.
To my visual delight, while watching the FWFW (fall winter fashion week) a ton of winter pastel options graced the runways. I immediately fell in love with the soft romantic hues in chunky heavy textures. I couldn't wait to put together some winter pastel looks. But then it hit me, as it does every season of fashion week, this won't hit mainstream fashion right this second. Most defiantly not the stores in MN. I'll have to hunt and order and buy while i'm traveling to find this new trend. HA! I was wrong!! Not but a month later I saw winter pastels everywhere! In stores. In MN. High 5 to MN Fashion! Every year it gets better! This year, I waited not, no need for hunting, for traveling. Fashion trends straight from this seasons runways! I have had the best of times mixing in pastel fur into my winter wardrobe! Pastel leather, chunky sweaters and scarves! I. Am. Obsessed. Truly freaking out obsessed. It's a must try this season! Rock a head to toe pastel look or mix a pastel piece into a darker winter look you already have. However you prefer to rock it, go for it! Change it up a little! Feels good!
Mix and match-
Mix your dark winter fur with some new pastel fur!
